One of the primary difficulties most people have in praying, or learning how to pray, is coming to a child-Father or, better yet, a child-Daddy relationship with their God so that he is not just Someone "out there" who is hard to reach. The psalmists seem to have bridged this apparent chasm. One is constantly impressed with the intimacy of relationship they had with God. He was close to them, and they could speak their deepest emotions and longings to him comfortably. In this book, I have used psalms, and parts of psalms, according to the structure of the prayer that Jesus himself taught us, the Our Father, in order to help people learn how to have the intimacy of prayer that he had, and that he desires for us to have, the intimacy of a son or daughter with his or her heavenly Father. Each of the sections is introduced by a reflection on what Jesus was trying to teach us.

The book is divided into 5 sections:

PREFACE

I. Praise and Thanksgiving (Matthew 6:9)

II. Acceptance of God's Will (Matthew 6:10)

III. Petition and Intercession (Matthew 6:10)

IV. Acknowledgment of Sinfulness (Matthew 6:12)

V. Protection and Deliverance (Matthew 6:13)
